Need more than 20 images at a time?
The API plan lifts the batch limit, adds server-side conversion for large libraries, and returns results over a simple REST endpoint.
Ask about API accessCommon questions
Is Shrinklab really free?
Yes. You can compress up to 20 images per session at no cost, with no account or sign-up required.
Do my images get uploaded to a server?
No. All compression happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Your images never leave your device.
What image formats does Shrinklab support?
You can upload JPG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF files, and export the compressed result as JPG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF, regardless of the original format.
Should I use WebP or AVIF?
AVIF typically produces the smallest files at a given quality level, but takes longer to encode and has slightly less universal browser support than WebP. WebP is a safe, fast, widely-supported default; AVIF is worth it when file size matters most.
Is there a file size or batch limit?
Each image can be up to 15 MB, with a maximum of 20 images per session. Larger batches are available on the API plan.
